The beaches of Almeria are one of the main tourist attractions of the province. Almeria is one of the cities with more sunshine hours in Spain and its privileged position in the southeast make you enjoy almost 250 kilometers of coast.
From the west to the east, there are many beaches in Almeria that we can visit, although the most famous are located in the Natural Park Cabo de Gata-Níjar, where we find from very touristic beaches to some more difficult access and hidden coves and spectacular places, many of which have even been filming locations for movies, television series or music videos.
In this nature reserve area the best-known beaches are those of Mónsul or Los Genoveses, both near to San José, as well as Los Muertos Beach, in Carboneras.
The eastern area of Almeria has more beaches of interest, such as the two that we find in Cabo de Gata: Las Salinas, which stands out for its five kilometers of extension and the church that lies between the town center and La Almadraba de Monteleva neibourhood, and Las Sirenas Cove, under the Cabo de Gata Lighthouse and where we can enjoy spectacular sunsets next to the Sirens Reef, which is one of the most emblematic points in the Natual Park.
Following the eastern coast, another interesting beaches are the one in the town of La Isleta del Moro, El Playazo in Rodalquilar, and also the villages of Las Negras or Agua Amarga.
Towards the west, between Roquetas de Mar and Almerimar lays another of the beaches that must be enjoyed, Punta Entinas-Sabinar, with similar characteristics to the previous ones as it is also inside the a natural reserve. In Almerimar we can also practice extreme sports such as windsurfing.
